What You'll Do Increase Auto loan volume by enhancing HFCU’s existing relationships, as well as developing new relationships with dealers who are not currently participating in HFCU’s program. These will include auto, motorcycle, recreational vehicle and other motor vehicle (referred to collectively as “motor vehicle”) dealerships within New England and other states where HFCU lends Develop and implement strategies for portfolio growth, product development, and market adaptation to increase member engagement in both direct and indirect auto lending Build an effective network of internal and external relationships to acquire new prospects and expand existing relationships Handle escalated issues related to complex loan transactions Assist in the development of new programs to maintain or increase the loan volume that HFCU is able to generate through its Auto Lending channels regarding both direct and indirect. Identify strategic initiatives that align with HFCU objectives for loan growth, income, and expansion of the direct and indirect lending channels in the Auto and Motorcycle business Meet HFCU’s direct and indirect motor vehicle loan targets and goals Maintain relationships with Origence (CUDL) representatives to stay informed concerning pertinent issues, including industry trends, system issues and dealer performance. Using analytics, metrics and other information from HFCU and Origence (CUDL), including approval, funding and delinquency ratios; analyze and track dealer relationships. Assist with implementing and coordinating systems and software needed for the Auto Lending Program, working with external vendors and internal departments Maintain an awareness of competitive products, practices and pricing within the direct and indirect motor vehicle loan market in general Train dealership and Credit Union employees on HFCU’s motor vehicle related loan programs. Maintain awareness of opportunities to grow the business by identifying specific sales and account management strategies for each dealer to increase loan volume and market share Function as a liaison between HFCU, participating dealers and Origence (CUDL) to resolve issues and problems and to provide members with quality motor vehicle products and services. Understanding of NCUA regulations regarding Auto Lending. Ensure compliance with all Credit Union policies and procedures and applicable state and federal laws. Perform reporting, and other functions as necessary, required or assigned from time to time. Knowledge/Skills/Experience Required A minimum of 7-10 years of outside sales experience. Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field. Strong interpersonal, selling and negotiating skills with proven sales abilities such as developing referral sources, networking and cold-calling. Effective organizational and analytical skills, with a high degree of computer literacy and fluency in various Microsoft programs, as well as “standard” spreadsheet tools. Capable of exercising the highest level of discretion with respect to both internal and external confidential matters. Proven track record of success in a competitive sales environment. Knowledge of Direct Auto Lending Business Knowledge of various dealer finance and indirect consumer lending products and services preferred. Existing relationships with dealers in the defined territory preferred. Physical Requirements Is able to bend, sit, and stand in order to perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance. WORKING CONDITIONS Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise. Mental And/Or Emotional Requirements Must be able to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team. Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to complete basic mathematical calculations, spell accurately, and understand computer basics. Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence. Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public. Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines / requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace. Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters. Must be authorized to work in the US Seniority level
