Morningstar DBRS is hiring an experienced mortgage finance and credit analyst to contribute to its Residential Mortgage-Backed Securities (RMBS) surveillance team. In this role you will be the lead analyst for Morningstar DBRS rated transactions. You will be responsible for the management of assigned portfolio of credits to surveil , using your advanced understanding of the US mortgage sector. About The Role
Morningstar DBRS is hiring an experienced mortgage finance and credit analyst to contribute to its Residential Mortgage-Backed Securities (RMBS) surveillance team. In this role you will be the lead analyst for Morningstar DBRS rated transactions. You will be responsible for the management of assigned portfolio of credits to surveil , using your advanced understanding of the US mortgage sector.
Job Responsibilities
The selected analyst will report to the Head of U.S. RMBS Surveillance and be part of the RMBS Surveillance group.
Manage the periodic surveillance of DBRS Morningstar’s rated book, identifying bond-level events that necessitate rating actions in accordance with our policies and procedures. Monitor movement at the loan and transaction level to identify transactions that merit further analysis. Complete surveillance reviews of Morningstar DBRS-rated RMBS transactions. This work will involve analyzing underlying collateral and bond-level reporting provided by the transaction parties. Prepare committee memorandum, present analysis to credit committee, and publish press release. Obtain a solid understanding of Morningstar DBRS' methodologies, models, criteria and other analytical tools to assess the credit worthiness of various transaction types within the rated RMBS book, which are bonds backed by agency or non-agency collateral, such as, prime jumbo, non-qualified mortgages , reperforming, nonperforming, home equity investment etc.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in finance, math, engineering, or any other related field. Minimum of 7 years of experience in residential mortgage related field, e.g. banking/lender, private equity, servicing, valuation services. Additional experience in capital markets, structured finance, securitizations, or NRSRO are preferred. Solid understanding of residential mortgages for various agency and non-agency mortgage types, such as, prime jumbo, Non-QM, RPL, NPL, HEI, HELOC, RTL, CRT, RM, and SFR. Thorough understanding of credit and legal aspects of structured finance in the residential mortgage product area. Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with a high attention to detail. Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and time-management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication/presentation skills with a proven ability to present complex analyses in a clear and concise manner

Base Salary Compensation Range
$110,000.00 - 205,000.00 USD Annual
Incentive Target Percentage
30% Annual
