The
General Manager I
plays a crucial role in driving depot success by leading individuals and team leaders at a specific depot location, serving over 800 customers. The General Manager is typically supported by an Operations Manager, who manages part of the hourly team, and may also directly supervise a segment of the hourly workforce. Key responsibilities include enhancing team engagement, ensuring safety and DOT compliance, managing fleet performance, and driving service excellence in oil distribution and AutoMist inspections. The position requires effective leadership, continuous improvement focus, and the ability to meet financial and operational goals. Primary Job Accountabilities: Manage team engagement and performance.
Monitor KPIs such as retention rate, open positions, daily work schedules, and engagement scores. Provide feedback, celebrate successes, and foster continuous improvement. Foster a safety-first culture
by implementing safety policies, training, and regulations in compliance with OSHA standards. Coach team members to enhance safety awareness and driving skills. Oversee fleet performance and maintenance
to improve productivity. Ensure drivers perform inspections and maintain relationships with maintenance providers. Monitor KPIs like fleet downtime and vehicle uptime. Ensure DOT regulation compliance , including hours of service and driver qualifications. Review metrics, coach drivers, and promote a positive team environment. Manage new installations:
Oversee installation of Oil Management and AutoMist systems, monitor performance, and ensure proper operation. Ensure service excellence:
Oversee RT equipment performance, drive KPI achievement, and develop action plans for performance gaps. Manage oil distribution:
Oversee delivery and collection of cooking oil, monitor efficiency KPIs. Oversee AutoMist inspections:
Conduct quarterly inspections, ensure technician training, and address performance gaps. Manage inventory accuracy:
Oversee material transactions, including receiving, shipments, and transfers. Ensure depot HACCP compliance:
Implement and monitor standards, train employees, and maintain cleanliness for inspections. Analyze depot operating expenses:
Monitor expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and report financial health through P&L statements. Minimum Qualifications At least 1 year of operations experience (strongly preferred) At least 1 year of management experience (strongly preferred) Ability to motivate and build engaged teams Experience in coaching, conflict resolution, and employee development Leadership courage to address performance issues Customer service management skills Strong business acumen and results-driven Excellent communication skills Self-awareness and growth mindset Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field (strongly preferred) Experience in route-based service industry (strongly preferred) Experience leading distribution functions (strongly preferred) Inclusive Employer
