Base pay range $85,000.00/yr - $110,000.00/yr Additional compensation types Annual Bonus The Sonnenalp in Vail is currently seeking a stellar Assistant Director of Human Resources to join our team. Primary Purpose of Position The Assistant Director of Human Resources will play a vital leadership role supporting a positive, people-first culture. This position oversees a wide range of HR functions—including talent acquisition, employee relations, payroll, benefits, performance management, and compliance—for both our luxury hotel and private member club. Reporting to the VP of HR, this role offers the opportunity to directly influence strategy while ensuring operational excellence in all areas of the employee experience. Please note... this is an on-site role between both the Vail & Edwards locations. Key Responsibilities: Lead end-to-end recruitment, onboarding, and workforce planning Oversee payroll, benefits administration, and compensation strategy Champion employee engagement, recognition, and performance programs Provide guidance on HR compliance, employee relations, and conflict resolution Support safety, workers’ compensation, and employee housing programs Partner cross-functionally with managers and executives to drive HR strategy What We’re Looking For: 4+ years in an HR leadership role, preferably in hospitality Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices Exceptional communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills Tech-savvy with experience in HRIS, ATS, and payroll systems Degree in Human Resources or related field preferred; PHR/SPHR a plus Spanish language skills and international recruitment experience a bonus Holiday Pay, Paid Time Off, and Sick Pay Voluntary Life Insurance Short Term & Long Term Disability Employee Assistance Program Parking Credit or Discounted Bus Passes Resort Discounts Travel Benefits with LHW hotels Be part of a collaborative, high-performing HR team that’s committed to excellence and innovation.
