Security Team Specialist I . Security Specialists provide protection and security at the Lemuel Shattuck Hospital Campus for its buildings, grounds, equipment, patients, students, visitors, and staff. Please Note
: Assigned Days On and Off Discussed At Interviews Day Shift 7AM-3:30PM. Evening Shift 3PM-11:30PM Night Shift 11PM-7AM Duties and Responsibilities
: (these duties are a general summary and not all inclusive) Address concerns in a timely manner related to possible loss or damage from theft, fire, vandalism, civil disorder, violence, or other causes. Patrol campus buildings, parking lots and adjacent areas; enforce the Hospital’s parking, smoking, and other policies, and the Hospital’s traffic and safety regulations. Provide assistance during emergencies to DPH, DMH, and vendor programs on campus. Perform duties required at fixed posts with a focus on customer service; monitor access control systems; maintain incident and daily logs; and perform related duties as required. When needed, administer emergency first aid as a designated first responder; also provide emergency coverage for other departments through various assignments. Required Qualifications
: Ability to deal tactfully with others, including those under emotional or physical stress. Make decisions and act quickly in dangerous or emergency situations. Read and gather information through interviewing and examining documents. Exercise sound judgment. Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of standard police procedures. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to think analytically. Previous security experience. Working Conditions: This position requires lifting and carrying heavy objects, standing and walking for prolonged periods, with or without accommodations. About the Lemuel Shattuck Hospital: Lemuel Shattuck Hospital is a fully Joint Commission accredited teaching facility providing acute, subacute, and ambulatory care to patients referred by public agencies and private providers. It serves economically and socially disadvantaged patients, offering high-quality, cost-effective care with dignity. Located in Boston’s Jamaica Plain neighborhood, the hospital includes 248 inpatient beds, outpatient clinics, and specialized services including a Suboxone clinic and support for patients with addictions and homelessness.
