Position Overview: Bicara Therapeutics is seeking a strategic and hands-on HR Business Partner to join our team. This role requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced, “build mode” environment, while bringing experience and perspective from more mature organizations. Reporting directly to the Chief People Officer, you will play a critical role in shaping the employee experience, strengthening leadership capability, and ensuring HR practices support the company’s ambitious growth plans. You will partner closely with leaders and employees across all levels to provide guidance, drive HR initiatives, and foster a culture of trust, engagement, and performance. You will be the internal subject matter expert on employee relations, and work hand-in-hand with the CPO and the rest of the People Team to shape processes and policies that amplify the company culture. We are ideally seeking Massachusetts-based candidates who are able to work a hybrid schedule that includes 3 days per week in our Boston office. Key Responsibilities: Serve as a trusted advisor to leaders and employees on all people-related matters, building strong relationships at every level of the organization. Provide coaching and guidance to managers on leadership effectiveness, team dynamics, and employee development. Lead employee relations efforts with a balanced, empathetic, and solutions-focused approach. Partner with leaders to identify organizational and talent needs and implement effective people strategies that support business growth. Support the development and execution of people programs and processes such as performance management, talent development, and organizational design. Collaborate with the broader People team to create scalable processes and implement best practices as the company grows. Act as a change agent and help the organization navigate through growth and transformation. Qualifications: Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive HR experience, including significant experience in an HR Business Partner or equivalent role. Proven experience in employee relations and manager coaching; ability to influence and build trusted relationships across all levels. Strong understanding of core HR processes and practices; experience bringing structure to growing organizations. Ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Familiarity with the life sciences, biotech, or pharmaceutical industry strongly preferred. Experience in a high-growth or “build mode” company is a plus. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work onsite in our Boston office at least 3 days per week Company Overview: Bicara Therapeutics is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company committed to bringing transformative bifunctional therapies to patients with solid tumors. Bicara’s lead program, ficerafusp alfa, is a bifunctional antibody that combines two clinically validated targets, an epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) directed monoclonal antibody with a domain that binds to human transforming growth factor beta (TGF-β). Through this dual-targeting mechanism, ficerafusp alfa has the potential to exert potent anti-tumor activity by simultaneously blocking both cancer cell-intrinsic EGFR survival and proliferation, as well as the immunosuppressive TGF-β signaling within the tumor microenvironment. Ficerafusp alfa is being developed in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma, where there remains a significant unmet need, as well as other solid tumor types.
