About The Job

The

Director, Materials Supply Planning

will recommend policy and practice that ensure the correct operation of the company Materials Requirement Planning processes (MRP) based on the best-known science of supply chain and recognized inventory planning and control agencies. The key deliverables of this role will be the balanced results of the highest possible service level to our customers utilizing the minimum possible inventory, preventing inventory losses during the process and helping maximize the factory’s efficiency via adequate production run.

What You'll Do

Manages and recommends supply strategy policy for GSF finished goods, defines the criteria to define what will be "Make to Order" (MTO), "Make to Stock" (MTS) or "Assembled to Order" (ATO) for all products, monitors implementation and regularly verify compliance and/or needs of change. Defines and manages supply strategy definition process for new commercialized products of GSF as well as periodic review of strategy for existing portfolio of products. Manages and recommends Material Requirements Planner (MRP) critical parameters of operation based on best known science of supply chain and generally recognized methodologies approved by APICS or SCMA associations, this will include but not be limited to Statistical Safety Stocks, Minimum Order Quantities, Multiple Orders Quantities, Production Safety Margins (safety times), Lead Times, etc. Oversees and promotes the ERP necessary enhancements as they pertain to the MRP module correct utilization and all planning parameters implementation. Defines and promotes use of a standard operating procedure (SOP) for materials requirement and purchase orders planning, placement, tracking and expediting, ensures deployment and effective use at the production site level. Defines and promotes a production scheduling strategy, methodology and standard operating procedures (SOP) that maximizes the production capacity output and the efficiency of the production runs (maximizes production output, minimizes time losses), ensures deployment and effective use at the production site level. Defines and promotes finished goods production orders planning, release to floor, tracking and expediting standard operating procedure (SOP), ensure its deployment and effective use at the production site level. Defines GSF inventory policy, methodologies, critical processes and reports that provides easy visualization and enables effective control and decision making on how much stock to keep, when to reorder, and how to handle excess or obsolete items aiming to meet customer demand without overstocking or understocking, preventing losses and promoting operations efficiency. Defines and manages an "At Risk Inventory" control process aiming to minimize inventory loss either preventing generation or promoting salvage actions with scope activities of A.-excess inventory, B.-non-moving inventory, C.-OnHold/Rejected inventory, D.-Expired (Over SAD/Shelf-Life Advice Date), and E.-Obsolete inventories. Defines and promotes a “Product Discontinuation” and materials “Runout Strategy”, define appropriate standard operating procedure and needed templates, leads its execution when appropriate including leading each manufacturing site collaboration to the same. Supports GSF business continuity plans definition and updating with appropriate and relevant supply chain data (e.g. customers landscape, capabilities, alternate sites, potential 3rd party network, etc.) Maintains clear communication with Sales, Product Development, Commercialization, Quality Assurance, Customer Service, Operations, and Procurement to ensure the organization’s affective plans.

Administrative

Responsible for developing LPNA materials planning strategic direction and goals, ensuring alignment with Plant and LPNA Divisional Strategic objectives. Responsible for monitoring the adequacy of action plans to meet assigned LPNA objectives, monitoring performance toward achieving key performance indicators at division and site’s level and ensuring alignment throughout the entire organization. Supports onboarding, training and development of sites supply chain planning executives, participates in performance evaluations and career development. Assists in the recruitment and selection of SCM employees adhering to all company policies and objectives. Assist in the development of the annual budget for inventory, expenses and capex as appropriate. Develops and reports KPI metrics Performs other related and assigned duties as necessary.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

MINIMUM

QUALIFICATIONS : Education and experience equivalent to:

Education/Certification

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, supply chain, planning or other related majors from an accredited college or university Supply Chain Certifications as ASCM/CPIM required

Experience :

7 to 15 years of relevant work and/or supervisory experience in Planning, Scheduling and Logistics in a manufacturing environment. Food manufacturing environment experience preferred.
