Are you a cybersecurity enthusiast who thrives on identifying threats and automating solutions? Were on the lookout for a Cybersecurity Engineer to lead the charge in vulnerability detection, patch management, and security monitoring across a wide variety of client environments. Youll be the go-to expert for security best practices, helping us build out a new department focused on proactive risk mitigation and compliance. Who Were Looking For: Youre detail-driven, security-focused, and passionate about protecting systems before threats have a chance to strike. Youll need a strong grasp of vulnerability management, antivirus alerts, Microsoft 365 security, and automated patching, Experience with EDR platforms such as Nessus, Defender for Endpoint, Sophos Intercept X, or CrowdStrike is highly desirable. Youll also play a key role in helping our clients achieve Cyber Essentials certification, so knowledge of compliance and governance is a real plus. What Youll Be Doing: Security Monitoring: Review and respond to antivirus/EDR alerts and Microsoft 365 Defender security incidents. Vulnerability Management: Analyse and interpret data from Nessus (or similar) scans, prioritise risks, and drive remediation efforts. Patch Automation: Create and maintain automated patching workflows using NinjaRMM or equivalent RMM platforms. Compliance Support: Assist clients in preparing for Cyber Essentials audits and implementing recommended practices. Tool Configuration: Set up and maintain SIEM, AV, and threat detection tools where needed. Documentation: Maintain accurate security documentation and remediation reports. Firewall Monitoring: Keep a close eye on firewall activity using platforms like WatchGuard and Sophos, ensuring network traffic is secure and identifying any suspicious behaviour. Collaboration: Work closely with our support and infrastructure teams to roll out fixes across multiple clients. What Youll Need: Proven experience in a cybersecurity, SOC, or vulnerability management role. Proven Knowledge of Watchguard / Sophos firewalls. Hands-on experience with tools like Nessus, Microsoft Defender, Sophos, or SentinelOne. Practical scripting knowledge (PowerShell or Python preferred). Experience automating patch management using tools like NinjaRMM or similar. Understanding of Cyber Essentials or other compliance frameworks. Great attention to detail and analytical thinking. Solid communication skillsyou can explain security risks in plain English. Ability to work independently and take ownership of your work. Bonus Points For: Industry certifications like CompTIA Security+, CySA+, Microsoft SC-200, or equivalent. Experience with Microsoft Secure Score and hardening M365 environments. Familiarity with SIEM/SOAR platforms. WatchGuard certification or hands-on experience managing WatchGuard firewalls. Why Join Us?
