Position Purpose The Head Coach is responsible for ensuring all assistants (contracted or volunteer) and themselves are familiar with the rules of the Washington Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA), KINGCO Conference, and Bellevue School District policies.

Duties & Responsibilities
Supervise the entire program at all levels.
Organize the program in alignment with district and high school goals.
Promote sportsmanship and positive public relations.
Follow all league, district, and school rules, policies, and procedures.
Prepare and distribute public information about the sport.
Comply with WIAA coaching clock hour requirements.
Stay updated on new techniques and knowledge related to the sport.
Coordinate scheduling of events with the Athletic Director.
Draft and manage the sport’s budget, tracking expenditures and revenues.
Oversee practice sessions and locker room supervision.
Maintain records and report to the Athletic Director and principal.
Attend all relevant district and league meetings.
Ensure athlete health, safety, and welfare.
Relay safety procedures to coaches, athletes, and parents.
Conduct and report on athlete interest surveys and evaluations.
Write an end-of-season report with evaluations and recommendations.
Evaluate assistant coaches annually.
Assign duties to assistant coaches and ensure policy compliance.
Manage equipment and facility use responsibly.
Organize, direct, and supervise practice sessions and dressing rooms.
Travel with the team and adhere to travel rules.
Reporting Relationships
Reports to the Athletic Director.
Required Education & Experience
High School diploma or equivalent.
At least 19 years old.
Valid first aid and CPR certification prior to employment.
Licensing Requirements None
Physical Requirements Involves physical activity including lifting up to 50 pounds, outdoor work, and mobility across campus.
Conditions of Employment Seasonal salary of $6,558; position not eligible for benefits.
