Your Impact The VP of Data & AI Products will lead the product strategy for leveraging data, analytics, and AI across all Hearst Magazines digital properties. This leadership role ensures our products are intelligent, personalized, deliver valuable user experiences, provide actionable insights to internal teams, and open new revenue streams. You will build and lead a team of product leaders to foster a data-first and AI-enabled culture organization-wide. What You'll Do Develop and promote a compelling product vision and strategy for data and AI initiatives aligned with Hearst’s overall goals. Manage product roadmaps for enterprise data and AI initiatives, including personalization engines, recommendation systems, audience intelligence platforms, and AI-powered tools. Lead, mentor, and expand a team of Product Leads specializing in data and AI domains. Collaborate with senior leadership across Product, Engineering, Design, Editorial, Commercial, and Brand teams to identify opportunities, define requirements, and ensure successful product adoption. Oversee ethical data collection, processing, transformation, and accessibility, ensuring user privacy and compliance. Promote data literacy and AI understanding within the product management organization and broader company. Define and track success metrics for data and AI products to measure impact on engagement, efficiency, and revenue. Stay informed on advancements in data science, machine learning, and AI, translating these into strategic product initiatives. Identify new monetization opportunities driven by data and AI, partnering with commercial teams. Foster a culture of innovation, experimentation, and continuous improvement within the team and collaborations. Who You Are 12+ years in product management, with at least 7+ years focused on data products, analytics, machine learning, or AI-driven products. Proven success in launching and scaling data-intensive and AI-powered products that deliver value. 5+ years in leadership, managing and mentoring product teams. Deep understanding of the data and AI lifecycle, including collection, processing, modeling, deployment, and iteration. Strong strategic thinking with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Experience in large-scale media, publishing, or digital content organizations is highly desirable. Effective collaboration skills across engineering, data science, design, marketing, sales, and editorial teams. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field or equivalent experience. Preferred Skills / Competencies : MBA or Master’s degree in a relevant field. Knowledge of data warehousing, data governance, MLOps, and experimentation platforms. Experience with agile methodologies and dual-track discovery/delivery. Understanding of ethical AI principles and data privacy laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA). Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for innovation. This role is hybrid, based in our NYC office.
