We are seeking a Legal Knowledge Management (KM) Specialist to play a key role in supporting and advancing the firm's knowledge management initiatives. This position will work closely with the Director of Legal KM, KM attorneys, Manager of Legal KM, KM support team members, and other stakeholders at the Firm to organize, maintain, and optimize the firm's knowledge resources while ensuring efficient access and utilization across the organization. The Specialist will also be responsible for planning and delivering training—including on Generative AI tools—developing and executing communications strategies, and providing comprehensive support for legal knowledge management solutions. Responsibilities
Works with KM Attorneys and Legal KM group to develop, deploy and manage a portfolio of legal knowledge management solutions and tools, including Generative AI tools, to strengthen legal knowledge management across the firm. Ensures the timely execution and delivery of Legal KM projects by maintaining systems for legal forms and precedent libraries, implementing data management systems, collecting valuable knowledge assets, and championing the use of best practices for Legal Knowledge Management. Plans, develops, and delivers training programs and materials for attorneys and staff on KM tools, intranet resources, Generative AI tools, and best practices, ensuring effective onboarding, adoption, and ongoing use of knowledge management solutions. Develops and implements communications plans to support the roll-out, adoption, and maintenance of KM initiatives, including preparing and reviewing department presentations, newsletters, training materials (including those related to Generative AI), and other communications to ensure consistent messaging and engagement. Engages with lawyers, paralegals, and information systems technology specialists to gather initial requirements for and then define project scope, goals, and deliverables for the implementation of Legal KM projects, including those involving Generative AI solutions. Serves as a resource to all firm personnel for training and assistance with accessing and using KM tools (e.g., internal databases, Generative AI platforms), and firm research resources (both internal and external). Undertakes in-depth analysis of data collected from practice groups and leads development of internal and client-facing data projects. Continuously builds on understanding of practice groups and relevant legal issues and resources to provide KM support. Supports the day-to-day operations of the firm's Legal KM tools, including content maintenance for intranet sites, databases, and knowledge management resources, with a focus on integrating and supporting Generative AI tools where applicable. Provides mentoring, training, and advisory guidance to content managers and contributors, helping them create engaging and effective content for the intranet and other KM platforms, including content related to Generative AI applications. Keeps project stakeholders informed of progress on an ongoing basis and provides support to the business for tasks to which they are assigned. For all Legal KM projects, organizes or participates in project after action reviews, analyzes the findings, and makes recommendations to the KM Management team regarding opportunities for process improvement, including the use and training of Generative AI tools. Works with the Director of Legal Knowledge Management to ensure that Legal KM projects are following best practice and utilizing established project standards, procedures, and quality objectives. Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree and at least 3-5 years of relevant experience Good attention to detail, strong organizational and analytical skills Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and be able to handle multiple projects at the same time. Must be able to re-prioritize work to keep up with the needs of the business. Ability to work with individuals at all levels in the organization. Must have strong written and verbal communication skills. Must be consultative and be able to collaborate between groups (e.g., lawyers, paralegals, IT professionals). Customer service orientation. Ability to influence without having direct management responsibility. Prior experience managing projects required. Experience with Knowledge Management desirable. Law firm experience required. Experience with Generative AI, data visualization and/or database management systems preferred. Experience planning and delivering training on Generative AI tools is highly desirable. Aptitude and interest in communications and legal technologies and how they can help lawyers work more effectively and efficiently. Strong project management skills and ability to organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel. Familiarity with collaboration and project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Smartsheet). Compensation and Total Rewards Package

Boston: $70,500 - $107,550 New York City: $73,900 - $112,650 Working Conditions
This position requires hybrid on-site presence as an essential function of the role. Consistent and predictable on-site presence is required for ongoing business continuity, professional development and effective collaboration with colleagues and management.
