Richland Glass
The Staff Accountant plays a critical role in maintaining the financial accuracy and integrity of the organization by managing accounts receivable (AR), accounts payable (AP), and supporting month-end close activities. This position is also responsible for timecard auditing and job cost reconciliation and provides administrative and financial support to the finance department.
Essential Job Functions:
Accounts Receivable
Record incoming customer payments (ACH, checks, wires) and apply to AR accounts.
Perform regular collections follow-up and maintain AR aging schedules ensuring current collections at or above 90%.
Prepare credit reference documents and assist in customer credit review process.
Accounts Payable
Review, code, and enter vendor invoices; prepare payments by check, ACH, or wire. Resolve discrepancies and respond to vendor inquiries. Reconcile vendor statements and maintain accurate AP records. Audit timecards for accuracy, job coding, and compliance with labor policies. Reconcile job cost data to ensure accuracy of direct labor reporting. Coordinate closely with HR and Finance on payroll processing cycles. Month-End Close & Reporting
Assist in preparation and posting of journal entries. Prepare bank, credit card, and general ledger reconciliations. Contribute to month-end financial reporting and analysis. Support internal and external audits with timely and organized documentation. General Administrative and Cross-Functional Support
Maintain electronic and paper accounting records and filing systems. Serve as backup on daily accounting functions. Collaborate with HR, Operations, and Sales teams to ensure the accuracy of financial data. Qualifications:
Technical Skills Strong Microsoft Excel skills; proficiency in Outlook and Word. Familiarity with job costing principles and time/labor reconciliation. Professional Attributes
Strong knowledge of GAAP and standard accounting practices. High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and reconciliation. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet established deadlines. Education & Experience
Associate degree in Accounting or Finance required; Bachelor’s degree preferred. Minimum of 3–5 years of accounting experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting. Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
Role is based in an office setting within a manufacturing facility. Environment may be warm during summer months. Prolonged periods of sitting and computer use required. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally. Disclaimer
