Waymo's Product Management Team is a mission-driven team responsible for writing and enacting first-of-their-kind playbooks to bring fully autonomous driving technology to market. Our team develops simple solutions for complex problems by orchestrating cross-functional efforts to safely drive Waymo's technology and the products it enables forward. We do this by understanding the customer, the business, and the technology. We are humble about the scope of our work, collaborative in our approach to problem-solving, and ambitious about our vision for the future.
In this Hybrid role, you will report to a Group Product Manager
You Will
Define and lead the roadmap for scalable and automated responses to extreme weather events that meet safety requirements, work seamlessly with Operations Team and our Riders, and optimize against Waymo's core business metrics Partner and work with 1P, 2P, and 3P weather data providers to source, define, ingest, and advance state-of-the-art weather data necessary for Waymo's business needs; surface opportunities to advance this field Align workflows and concepts-of-operation that creatively utilize the various data sources available; influence the roadmaps of partner teams Work closely with several cross-functional roles and teams, including Incident Response, Fleet Infra and Orchestration, Onboard Software, Operations, and partner Product Managers Be the subject matter expert in domestic and international weather data to support company-level roadmapping and medium-to-long-term decision making
You Have
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Data Science, or related fields 2+ years working with weather data or weather data products to support decision making Experience working with, understanding, analyzing, and presenting complex data to help influence long-term roadmaps Ability to translate company-level goals to team-level outcomes and build a cross-functional product roadmap to meet those outcomes Strong sense of accountability and ownership
We Prefer
Advanced technical degree (Masters or PhD), ideally in atmospheric science Strong relationships and involvement in the scientific, government, and/or industrial weather community 2+ years of Product Management experience Developed and shipped weather products geared towards operational decision making
Travel
Potential travel up to 2-4 times a year.
The expected base salary range for this full-time position across US locations is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the role location or, if the role can be performed remote, the specific salary range for your preferred location, during the hiring process.
Waymo employees are also eligible to participate in Waymo’s discretionary annual bonus program, equity incentive plan, and generous Company benefits program, subject to eligibility requirements.
