Job Overview The Engineer is responsible for the operation and maintenance of all building equipment and systems. Working with the Lead Engineer and Chief Engineer, the candidate will assign work and schedule staff. Current hours: 7am – 3pm (temporary), 9am – 5pm (permanent). Schedule is onsite. Pay Rate:
$48.60/hour Responsibilities Essential Duties & Job Functions: Coordinate and oversee the integration and completion of building systems. Supervise third-party contractors and in-house personnel for optimal performance. Assist in overseeing building operations with the Lead and Chief Engineers. Procure goods as directed. Operate and maintain the central plant and energy management systems. Maintain safety, security, and support of building equipment. Respond to customer requests and resolve challenges. Manage inventories of tools, supplies, and equipment. Assist in maintaining and repairing machinery and safety equipment. Perform preventive maintenance and after-hours rounds. Handle emergencies related to HVAC, fire alarms, electrical, and plumbing. Participate in minor construction projects and incident reporting. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies. Perform other duties as assigned. Accountable For: Knowledge of HVAC systems, troubleshooting, and maintenance. Ability to perform preventive maintenance and read blueprints. Use of computer software including Excel, Word, email, and PowerPoint. Possession of required licenses and ability to pass background checks. Desire for career advancement. Job Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent. 7+ years of maintenance and operations experience, including government facilities. DC 3rd Engineering License or higher. FBI Security Clearance. Working Conditions Work environment includes temperature-controlled offices and exposure to extreme weather, fumes, chemicals, and noise during operational visits. Physical Requirements Regular sitting, talking, walking, handling, reaching, and occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
