Chief Executive Officer
to lead the Foundation into its next era of growth and impact. With a track record of extraordinary achievement, including a $158 million capital campaign to build a new Central Library, OPLF is poised to expand its reach and deepen its support for Omaha’s only public library system. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO will work in close partnership with Omaha Public Library leadership to drive innovation in fundraising, programming, and community engagement. The ideal candidate is an inspiring communicator and inclusive leader who can forge strategic partnerships, mobilize resources, and align a wide variety of stakeholders toward a shared vision of access, learning, and equity. Key responsibilities: Lead and grow all aspects of fundraising, from major gifts to annual campaigns. Partner with OPL leadership to support strategic initiatives and engage community leaders. Serve as the primary ambassador and advocate for OPLF’s mission, vision, and values. Build productive relationships across Omaha’s philanthropic, civic, and private sectors. Manage business operations, finances, and a growing team to ensure organizational excellence. Qualifications: Minimum of 10 years of fundraising leadership experience exhibiting increased responsibilities. Experience building and sustaining public-private partnerships and/or experience in governmental relations, advocacy, or in a public sector environment. Proven record of individual, corporate, and foundation major donor cultivation and solicitation. Oversight and demonstrated growth of annual fundraising campaigns and activities. Demonstrated experience cultivating collaborative, productive partnerships to achieve shared goals, particularly with Board members. Proven experience as an effective and compelling public speaker. Experience managing a $2 million-plus annual budget. Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree and/or specialization in fundraising, financial planning, planned giving, etc. desirable. Why OPLF?
