(Hybrid) Position Summary Reporting to the Associate General Counsel, the
Legal
Counsel
/Senior Legal Counsel
will be a key member of the North America Legal Team and will provide legal support for the company’s established and growing utility-scale, solar energy and energy storage pipeline in the U.S. and Canada. The
Legal
Counsel’s role will
be a t
ransactional attorney who
will
support a wide range of contracts, negotiations, and advisory work
related to construction and procurement
matters.
Expertise in PWA and importation rules are a
plus.
The Legal Counsel/Senior Legal Counsel
will
also
assist
with
other company contracts, including
development,
project finance, acquisitions and divestitures,
real estate and land use and permitting activities
,
and
offtake agreements
.
The ideal candidate will be a strong technical attorney and a pragmatic businessperson. This will be a collaborative cross-functional scope that is executed through partnerships with members of the
Construction
and
Procurement
Team, and other t
eam
s throughout the company
. Responsibilities Executing on renewable energy
construction and procurement contracts
and other energy project transactions in coordination with legal department leadership and other teams in the company
. Resolving disputes
in a commercial manner
and
helping to ensure contract compliance
. Drafting,
reviewing,
and negotiating a variety of renewable energy agreements (including, but not limited to, project related agreements and
interparty agreements
)
. Requirements U.S.-credentialed law degree from a top-tier ABA accredited law school
. Minimum of
5
years of substantial experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating
renewable energy
agreements
within a top-tier law firm and/or corporate legal department
. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively. Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders. Travel required 0 – 15%. Recurrent Energy is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE).
