The Role We're seeking an experienced and visionary engineering executive to join our team and drive our technological innovation forward. This is a roll-up-sleeves, hands-on leadership role blending strategy, full-stack technology and people management skills. Key Responsibilities Lead the technical direction of our multi-agent system for e-commerce automation Architect scalable, platform-agnostic solutions that can integrate with various e-commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, WooCommerce) and ERP systems (e.g., Odoo) Collaborate with ML researchers to translate AI concepts into production-ready code Manage and mentor a team of software engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence Contribute to codebase, focusing on critical and complex components, including both front-end and back-end development Drive the adoption of best practices in software development, including CI/CD, code reviews, and testing Work closely with product managers to align technical capabilities with business goals and user experience requirements Stay abreast of the latest developments in AI, e-commerce technologies, front-end frameworks, and software engineering practices Qualifications 10+ years of software engineering experience, with strong engineering team management and leadership experience Strong full stack skill set with an emphasis on front end engineering Strong skills in Python and experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS Deep understanding of AI technologies, particularly in the context of multi-agent systems and LLMs AI-first building mindset and capability, and leading an AI first dev organization Solid grasp of software architecture principles Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (Git, Docker, Kubernetes) Experience with Langgraph Strong problem-solving skills and ability to mentor and guide technical teams Excellent communication skills, able to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders Preferred Qualifications Advanced degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or related field Experience with additional front-end technologies (React, JavaScript, D3.js, Redux) Experience with e-commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, WooCommerce) and/or ERP systems (e.g., Odoo) Knowledge of database management, particularly MongoDB Familiarity with API development using FastAPI or Flask AWS certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect) Experience with microservices and serverless architectures Experience with mobile app development (React Native preferred) Experience in consumer-facing products, particularly in e-commerce or ERP systems Strong engineering background in both big tech companies and startups Values and Behaviors A constant learner with a passion for emerging technologies and their business applications Customer-obsessed, with a keen ability to empathize with user needs and translate them into product features Motivated and team-oriented, with an ability to thrive in a multidisciplinary environment Mission-oriented and dedicated to bringing breakthrough AI technologies to customers Entrepreneurial, pioneering spirit with the ability to navigate ambiguity and drive results Strong sense of ownership and urgency in driving projects forward Excellent collaborator, able to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders Holds oneself and others accountable for commitments in an assertive and positive manner Fosters a growth-oriented, high-energy environment An innovative mindset with a passion for leveraging technology to improve customer experiences and business outcomes More About Flagship Pioneering Flagship Pioneering is a bioplatform innovation company that invents and builds platform companies, each with the potential for multiple products that transform human health or sustainability.
