The Chief Procurement Officer (CPO) will build and execute Takeda’s global procurement strategy in line withTakeda’s corporate philosophy. Positioning the procurement as a powerhouse of value creation and competitiveadvantage for the business, CPO develops and leads the best-in-class and high-performing procurement functionthat focuses on total cost of ownership, drives innovation and continuous improvements, leverages technologiesfor efficiency and thrives for excellence.
How you will contribute: Shape and communicate a compelling vision for the future of procurement, aligning with Takeda’s Value and its strategic priorities, and foster enterprise-wide buy-in. Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with Takeda’s Value and its business goals. Drive value creation from identifying opportunities to execution. Build a best-in-class and high-performing team that establishes strong supplier relationships and stays ahead of industry trends with advanced data analytics and competitive intelligence. Establish a trusted and constructive relationships with key senior leaders in Business Units (BUs) and Functions (BFs) in partnership with Finance Leadership Team (FLT) to enable the effective implementation of the procurement strategies and co-drive financial performance. Create a diverse and inclusive environment and learning organization. Maintain high standards of quality and compliance, living with our Values. Proactively assess potential risks and put mitigation plans inplace. Preferred Qualifications: 20+ years of progressive procurement leadership experience, including experience as a procurement business partner accountable for 5-6 billion USD of spend. Biopharma industry experience is preferred. Candidates from similarly structured, highly regulated industries with end-to-end value chain will also be considered. Proven track record in leading a global procurement organization with exceptional leadership skills inspiring and motivating a team. Progressive leadership experience in procurement across multicultural and global environments within a highly matrixed organization. Good understanding of finance value chain. Proven ability to build & implement procurement strategies that drive value (i.e. cost savings, process optimization) Ability to navigate in matrix organization and effectively drive dynamic procurement initiatives across multiple business units and functions globally.
