Responsibilities
Peraton is seeking an Information Assurance Security Advisor to provide technical and programmatic information assurance services to internal and external customers, supporting network and information security systems. The role involves designing, developing, and implementing security requirements within organizational business processes.
The candidate will prepare documentation based on customer information using accepted guidelines, develop security test and evaluation plans, and support certification and accreditation activities, including security and contingency plans. They will conduct complex risk and vulnerability assessments, analyze policies against federal laws and regulations, and recommend system enhancements to address security deficiencies. The role also includes developing, testing, and integrating security tools, securing system configurations, scanning systems for compliance, evaluating products, and conducting security audits to develop risk mitigation solutions.
Additional responsibilities include supporting the development of security architectures to meet evolving requirements, assisting in computer incident investigations, and performing vulnerability assessments with risk mitigation strategies.
The incumbent will support the client's assessment and authorization (A&A) process for approximately 40 mission systems, collaborating with technical teams to produce quality Body of Evidence (BOE) packages aimed at achieving Authority to Operate (ATO) certifications, facilitating handoffs to security partners as part of the A&A process.
Qualifications
Minimum of 12 years of experience with a BS/BA degree; 10 years with MS/MA; or 7 years with a Ph.D.
Alternatively, 4 additional years of experience may substitute for a degree.
Strong systems integration, collaboration, planning, and communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio) and ability to work independently.
Working familiarity with cybersecurity tools such as Rapid 7 and Nmap, including managing scan artifacts for compliance workflows.
Effective communication skills, comfortable working across disciplines including security, cybersecurity, IT, and systems engineering.
