The CFO will serve as a strategic thought partner to the CEO and Board, responsible for overseeing all financial operations, ensuring ASC 606-compliant reporting, managing external debt obligations, supporting aggressive M&A activities, and driving both organic and inorganic growth. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in PE-backed businesses, software and services revenue recognition, and acquisition integration. Requirements Key Responsibilities 1. Financial Strategy & Leadership · Develop and execute the company’s financial strategy to support 10%+ organic growth and multi-acquisition inorganic growth annually. · Partner with PE sponsors and the CEO to align on strategic financial planning, including long-range modeling and capital structure optimization. · Build, develop, and lead a high-performing finance and accounting team. 2. Financial Reporting & Compliance · Oversee preparation of timely, accurate financial statements and board reporting packages in accordance with ASC 606 and GAAP. · Lead annual audits, tax planning, and external compliance reporting, ensuring no surprises for PE stakeholders or lenders. · Implement and maintain internal controls, compliance processes, and best-in-class financial practices suitable for a scaling PE-backed company. 3. Mergers & Acquisitions · Partner with corporate development and legal teams to evaluate, structure, diligence, and integrate multiple acquisitions per year. · Lead financial modeling, valuation analysis, and synergy realization tracking for all M&A transactions. · Establish scalable post-merger integration playbooks across systems, finance functions, and reporting. 4. Treasury & Capital Structure · Manage relationships with the PE and company’s debt providers, ensuring covenant compliance, liquidity forecasting, and proactive communication. · Work with PE firm to optimize capital allocation strategy including recapitalizations, dividend policies, and debt refinancing as applicable. 5. Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis · Drive an annual budgeting process aligned with board expectations and strategic initiatives. · Deliver rolling forecasts and KPIs for financial and operational performance, including dashboards tailored to executive and board-level audiences. · Support sales, marketing, and services teams with unit economics, margin optimization, and resource allocation analytics. 6. Equity Management · Manage employee equity option plans, cap table integrity, and investor reporting requirements. · Coordinate closely with outside legal and PE teams on financing rounds, stock issuances, and ownership structure. Qualifications · 10+ years of progressive financial leadership, including prior CFO or VP experience at a PE-backed technology or services business. · Expertise in ASC 606 revenue recognition for software resellers, SaaS, and professional services. · M&A experience: Led financial due diligence, modeling, and integration for multiple acquisitions per year. · Strong background in debt management and lender relations, particularly with sponsor-sourced capital structures. · Proven ability to build scalable infrastructure and processes in high-growth environments. · Prior experience presenting to Boards, managing investor relations, and navigating complex ownership structures. · Experience with Netsuite a plus. · CPA and/or MBA preferred. Success Metrics · Timely, audit-ready ASC 606 reporting with zero material weaknesses. · Successful execution of 2+ acquisitions annually, with clean integrations and ROI tracking. · 10%+ year-over-year organic revenue growth supported by efficient cost structures. · No covenant breaches or credit facility issues with existing lenders. · High satisfaction from PE sponsors on transparency, financial insight, and capital discipline. · Work from Liberty, SC Headquarters as needed. · Ideally, candidate is local to Liberty, SC. Remote Position considered for the right person. Remote position would require travel to headquarters, one-time per month. · The person in the role will lead a team of three employees.
