Key Responsibilities: Lead and oversee all engineering aspects of rotor control components, assemblies, and systems across all AVX aircraft programs. Collaborate closely with Drive Systems, Flight Sciences, Airframe, Flight Controls, and the Chief Engineer to design rotor blades, hubs, and control system components. Engage and coordinate with Aerodynamicists, Dynamicists, and Stress and Fatigue Analysts to ensure cohesive design integration. Direct the creation of technical specifications, rotor blade and component designs, analysis, and 2D engineering drawings. Manage all stages of component and assembly design from conceptualization to prototype testing and evaluation. Guide rotor system engineering efforts across all AVX Aircraft programs, ensuring alignment with overall company objectives. Provide technical oversight and guidance to suppliers of rotor system assembly components. Oversee test and evaluation processes, ensuring robust planning, execution, and reporting. Develop and maintain Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) reports for systems and components. Desired Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering required; Master’s degree in a relevant field preferred. Experience: Minimum of 15 years in rotor system engineering design and analysis for rotary wing aircraft. Proficient in solid modeling tools (SolidWorks, Catia V5/V6/3D Experience, or equivalent). Strong background in rotor system stress analysis and conceptual design. Proven experience translating Tier 0 air vehicle requirements into Tier 1 rotor system requirements. Extensive experience with rotary wing and/or tiltrotor rotor systems. Solid understanding of aerodynamics and dynamics. Familiarity with rotor system testing (ground, flight, Iron Bird). Knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software such as SolidWorks and 3D Experience. Awareness of rotor system materials and manufacturing processes, including composite rotor blades, elastomeric bearings, and both forged and machined components.
