$85,000.00/yr - $100,000.00/yr

Company Overview
Aphid is seeking a versatile Machine Learning Data Scientist Full Stack Developer to join our technology team. This hybrid role combines deep expertise in data science and machine learning with full-stack development capabilities in Python to build end-to-end ML-powered applications and data-driven solutions.
Position Summary
We are looking for a technically proficient professional who can bridge the gap between data science research and production-ready applications. The ideal candidate will design, develop, and deploy machine learning models while building the full-stack infrastructure to support them, from data pipelines to user-facing interfaces.
Key Responsibilities
Machine Learning & Data Science

  • Develop and implement machine learning models for predictive analytics, classification, clustering, and recommendation systems
  • Perform exploratory data analysis, feature engineering, and statistical modeling
  • Design and execute A/B tests and experimental frameworks
  • Optimize model performance through hyperparameter tuning and advanced techniques
  • Stay current with latest ML research and implement state-of-the-art algorithms
  • Create data visualizations and dashboards for stakeholder communication
Full Stack Development
  • Build responsive web applications using modern frontend frameworks (React)
  • Develop robust backend APIs and microservices using Python
  • Design and implement database schemas for both relational and MongoDB databases
  • Create real-time data streaming and processing pipelines
  • Implement user authentication, authorization, and security best practices
  • Ensure application scalability, performance, and reliability
MLOps & Infrastructure
  • Deploy machine learning models to production environments using containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines for model versioning and automated deployment
  • Monitor model performance and implement drift detection systems
  • Build automated retraining and model update workflows
  • Manage cloud infrastructure (AWS) for ML workloads
Collaboration & Communication
  • Work closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers
  • Translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Present findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to technical documentation
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in machine learning and data science
  • 3+ years of experience in full-stack web development
  • Proven track record of deploying ML models to production
Technical Skills
  • Programming Languages: Proficiency in Python and JavaScript; familiarity with R, Scala, or Java is a plus
  • Machine Learning: Experience with scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, XGBoost, and other ML frameworks
  • Frontend Development: React, HTML5, JavaScript
  • Backend Development: REST APIs, GraphQL, microservices architecture
  • Databases: SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis, Elasticsearch)
  • Cloud Platforms: AWS
  • DevOps Tools: Docker, Kubernetes, Git, CI/CD pipelines
  • Data Tools: Pandas, NumPy, Jupyter, Apache Spark, Apache Kafka
Soft Skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to code quality
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work in agile environments
Preferred Qualifications
  • PhD in a quantitative field
  • Experience with deep learning and neural networks
  • Familiarity with MLOps tools (MLflow, Kubeflow, Weights & Biases)
  • Knowledge of data governance and privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA)
  • Experience with real-time systems and streaming data processing
  • Contributions to open-source projects or published research
  • Industry certifications in cloud platforms or machine learning
