QA Inspector

The QA Inspector ensures that all products released for distribution comply with applicable specifications. This role involves managing materials in the warehouse to ensure they are appropriately identified as to status and stored correctly. The QA Inspector is responsible for verifying that only released materials are used in production and that all materials are appropriately sampled, tested, and meet specifications before their use in production.

Responsibilities include: assuring compliance with applicable SOPs, ensuring manufacturing complies with Batch Record Instructions and requirements, receiving and sampling all raw materials and components for appropriate testing, quarantining and releasing finished products for shipping, ensuring all items in the plant, including raw materials, components, packaging, labels, finished products, reject materials, and rework materials, are appropriately labeled and stored according to SOPs, administering the label program, inspecting production lines, conducting appropriate sampling, storage, and status labeling of pallets of incoming materials until tested for compliance with specifications and released for use, conducting appropriate sampling and storage of finished products until tested and released for production, reviewing batch records to ensure only released ingredients, components, and labeling are used in production, assisting the Quality Manager in product investigations where deviations have occurred in manufacturing, or complaints or product failures have been reported, maintaining label inventory, issuing labels to production, returning labels to inventory, and facilitating reconciliation of label inventory, and inspecting production lines, checking for PPE, labels, codes, weights, and compliance with product specifications.

Essential Skills include: 1+ years of quality inspection experience in a GMP environment required, 3+ years preferred, HS Diploma required, and proficient computer skills to work within the QMS/Database, including basic skills or experience in a similar system like SAP or equivalent ERP.

Additional Skills & Qualifications include: experience in quality assurance, quality inspection, and quality check processes.

The QA Inspector will work primarily Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with moderate overtime of 4-6 hours weekly. There is a possibility of Saturday work, typically one Saturday a month. The work environment can be dusty due to the powdered products or animal feed-based products. The role offers 6 paid holidays and 40 hours of PTO, with a plan for conversion at the end of the assignment as there is an open headcount already approved. The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
