This position works under general supervision and is primarily responsible for loading, unloading, and moving materials and finished products within warehouse and pack orders to ensure timely, accurate delivery of customer requests. In this role youll make an impact by:
- Reading work orders and following oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved.
- Loading/unloading materials onto or from pallets, tubs, racks and shelves and into vehicles; inspecting vehicles for proper shipping conditions.
- Unloading materials from vehicles, inspect deliveries and shipments for accuracy and damage and prepare proper documents.
- Locate stock - count, weigh and record units of material moved, handled, or shipped.
- Prep materials for shipment by palletizing, banding, wrapping and labeling shipments.
- Pick and package finished products per work orders.
- Enter data in SAP, update records and file documents, electronically and manually, prepare/distribute reports, as required.
- Maintain clean area by sweeping or mopping.
- Comply with all departmental safety and sanitation requirements.
- Convey materials to proper storage area.
- Rotate stock as needed and optimize space utilization.
- Operate industrial trucks or electric hoists to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
- Perform PM to lift equipment.
- Maintain proper temperature for products.
- Ability to read, write and speak English.
- Ability to operate industrial trucks or electric hoists to assist in loading or moving materials.
- Basic computer skills to navigate in email and data systems.
- Knowledge of GMP, safety, sanitation and Hazardous Materials per DOT requirements.
- Ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions from drivers, other production-related departments (i.e. Customer Service) and co-workers in a tactful manner.
- Ability to use a calculator to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, including conversions to metric weight.
