JOB DESCRIPTION

Cardiovascular Sonographer with ability to perform various cardiac and vascular ultrasound examinations. Documents accurately and in a timely manner. Communicates and collaborates with health care team members. Adheres to organizational policy and procedures, regulatory/accrediting body requirements and professional practice standards. Assesses patient and provides preliminary findings when appropriate to the physician. Uses independent judgment and systematic problem solving methods to produce high quality diagnostic information to optimize patient care.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS Knowledge of professional CV Sonographer role and scope of practice. Knowledge of current trends and standards of care in area of responsibility. Knowledge of equipment specific to cardiovascular ultrasound. Demonstration of effective problem-solving, decision-making, and teamwork skills. Demonstration of positive customer service. Demonstrate ability to follow verbal and written direction. Stays current with required continuing medical education (CME) Basic computer skills

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES Participates in mandatory in-services, staff meetings, educational programs, committees and QI activities. Participates in maintaining unit functions. Demonstrates initiative in personal/professional development. Presents a professional image. Assists with control of costs through the judicious use of human and materiel resources.

Requirements Include

Job Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent Associates or Bachelor's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography preferred. ARDMS (RVT and/or RDCS) or CCI (RCS and/or RVS) or registry eligible Current CPR (BLS) certification required
