Job Responsibilities
The South Carolina Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism Information Technology Department Administrative Assistant coordinates and implements the day-to-day administrative requirements of the office. Under limited supervision, performs a variety of routine office support functions and other duties as assigned.
Job Duties •Serves as the first point of in-person contact for the Information Technology Department: 1) Welcome visitors to the IT Department, aids visitors on signing in and providing required badge. Escorts visitor to requested employee's office or meeting location
Provide administrative support to IT staff: Maintain Management's weekly staff calendar updates Maintain the office supply storage area/supply room and mail room in an organized and stocked manner Logs reservations for use of IT Conference Room by IT staff and other SCPRT employees Effectively manage documents using the document management lifecycle Assist with IT departmental events as assigned Assist with IT projects as assigned Assist IT Helpdesk with hardware inventory Assist IT staff with IT training requests and scheduling Assist with gathering required information for State IT Reporting Responsible for IT Procurement requests Creates and tracks shopping carts and purchase orders Responsible for IT procurements getting processed promptly and purchase orders sent to and received by the intended vendor Responsible for including IT budget data in IT SRM's, PO's and invoices
Minimum and Additional Requirements
Minimum Requirements: 1) High school diploma (or GED) and 1-2 years of experience in a similar role and setting. A college degree may be substituted for experience. 2) Proficiency in the use of computers and software such as the Microsoft Office suite, with an emphasis in the use of Excel, Word, and Outlook. 3) Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
