Hillcrest Hospital Cleveland Clinic is currently seeking AAs for opportunities at Hillcrest Hospital in Mayfield Heights, Ohio (~30 minutes from downtown Cleveland). Hillcrest Hospital, a bustling tertiary care facility and Level 2 Trauma Center, is renowned both regionally and statewide in Ohio for its exceptional healthcare services. We offer a diverse range of cases that will keep you engaged. We have an exceptionally busy and high-risk OB department. We foster a collaborative work environment where AAs, CRNAs, and MDAs share responsibilities and respect each other's contributions. Our CRNAs can actively participate in various committees and contribute to process improvement initiatives. We provide flexibility in scheduling, allowing CRNAs to work different shifts. Most CRNAs work either four 10-hour shifts or a combination of two 8-hour shifts and two 12-hour shifts per week. We strive to accommodate scheduling preferences if they align with the organization's needs. There is occasional weekend call from home, typically an 8-hour shift once every 4-5 weeks. Monitors the patient's physical reaction to the anesthetic and informs the physician of any adverse condition. Administers emergency measures when complications arise. Responsibilities: Obtains a comprehensive patient history and performs relevant elements of a physical exam. Discusses findings and anesthetic plan with supervising anesthesiologist before induction of anesthesia. Reviews the patient's condition with the anesthesiologist immediately prior to the induction of anesthesia. Pretests and calibrates anesthesia delivery systems. Administers blood, blood products and supportive fluids. Other duties as assigned. Education: Bachelor's Degree or higher from an institution of higher learning accredited by an organization recognized by the board of regents. Certifications: Certification by the National Commission for Certification of Anesthesiologist Assistants. Current, valid certificate of registration. Written practice protocol consistent with section 4760.09 of the Revised Code. Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) are required. Complexity of Work: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Physical Requirements: Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 25 pounds and ability to push, pull, and navigate supply carts weighing up to 200 pounds. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires working under stressful conditions of working irregular hours. Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids. Personal Protective Equipment: Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
