Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) Opportunity
VCA Sacramento Veterinary Referral Center is seeking a skilled and passionate Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our ECC Department in a relief capacity, with a minimum commitment of three shifts per month. About Our Hospital: We are a busy Specialty and 24-hour Emergency Hospital located in the Sacramento Area. We have many specialties that include Internal Medicine, Oncology, Surgery, and Neurology to name a few. We pride ourselves as being the premier Specialty Hospital in the greater Sacramento Area, our patient care and client service is the pinnacle of our business. Compensation Range: $25-$32/Hour Why We Need You: As a member of the VCA team, your mission will be to win the confidence of every pet caregiverby delivering an outstanding client experienceso they will partner with us for the care of their companion animals. You've worked hard for your credentialing and we want you to use the knowledge that you've invested your time and talent in. The skills that you will be utilizing include, but are not limited to: Venipuncture Catheter placement Radiology Anesthesia monitoring Physical examinations and patient assessment Surgical preparation and assisting Laboratory work Pharmacy Patient recovery Compassionate care for our hospitalized patient Teamwork advocate Restraining and assisting in patient exams and routine procedures Taking detailed medical histories and patient vitals Providing compassionate care for our hospitalized animals Assisting our Doctor and Technician staff as needed with patient care Maintain accurate and complete medical records Helping clients and doctors during humane euthanasia Maintain a clean work environment to maintain any infectious disease protocols, handle medical/biomedical and infectious waste appropriately Maintain inventory and supplies for procedures and patient husbandry. Requirements: Current RVT License, excellent communication skills necessary to interact effectively with coworkers, referring veterinarians, clients, and patients; ability to readily learn new procedures, must be adaptable. Ability to work independently while supporting a busy, high-producing department. Compassion for pets and people, understanding and respect for others' choices. The ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and be exposed to hazards associated with allergens, contagious diseases, noises, odors, bites, scratches, and animal waste. Schedule: As a relief associate, you will be required to work at least 3 shifts per month.
