Description

Job Summary:

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing mechanical systems and devices. Your primary focus will be on creating innovative solutions that meet technical requirements, quality standards, and project deadlines. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring concepts to life, from initial design through manufacturing and implementation. Your expertise will be instrumental in driving product development and ensuring the success of engineering projects.

Responsibilities: Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and systems using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) to meet project requirements and specifications. Conduct feasibility studies and technical analyses to evaluate design concepts, materials, and manufacturing processes for cost-effectiveness and performance optimization. Perform structural analysis, simulation, and testing to validate designs and ensure they meet safety, reliability, and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with electrical, software, and systems engineers to integrate mechanical components into multidisciplinary systems and products. Generate detailed engineering drawings, bill of materials (BOM), and specifications for prototype and production manufacturing. Work closely with vendors, suppliers, and manufacturing partners to source components, select materials, and ensure manufacturability and quality of mechanical parts. Participate in design reviews, brainstorming sessions, and cross-functional meetings to provide technical input and feedback on design concepts and project progress. Troubleshoot mechanical issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to resolve problems and improve product performance. Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in mechanical engineering to drive innovation and maintain competitive advantage. Communicate project status, technical updates, and recommendations to stakeholders, management, and team members in a clear and concise manner.

Qualifications

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) preferred. Proven experience in mechanical design, analysis, and testing within a product development environment. Experience in industries such as aerospace, automotive, consumer electronics, or medical devices is a plus. Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and finite element analysis (FEA) tools for structural and thermal analysis (e.g., ANSYS, Abaqus). Strong understanding of engineering principles, mechanics, materials science, and manufacturing processes. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to analyze complex problems, propose innovative solutions, and implement design improvements. Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work well in cross-functional teams and interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Project management experience, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and coordinate activities with internal and external partners. Familiarity with product development lifecycle processes, including design control, risk management, and regulatory compliance (e.g., ISO 9001, FDA). Adaptability and a willingness to learn new technologies and methodologies to enhance engineering capabilities and drive continuous improvement. Professional engineering licensure (PE) or certification (e.g., Certified SolidWorks Professional) is desirable but not required.
