Director Public Membership
The Director will grow the annual fund program, maintain a portfolio of high-end yearly fund donors, and prospects for solicitation. In addition, the Director strengthens up-to-date pipelines of individual prospects and will ensure that existing donors are appropriately stewarded. Responsibilities include: Sell new public membership and secure renewals Oversee list management, renewal mailings, communications, website updates, member correspondence including acknowledgments, and benefits fulfillment Design, implement and execute a comprehensive development plan to identify donors to give five and six-figure major gifts Cultivate and maintain existing relationships with face-to-face meetings and hosting at events Research, identify, and engage our community to discover new member prospects at all levels. Will also utilize personal contacts to grow our donor and membership base Plan and execute stewardship and cultivation events to continually engage donors and prospects to communicate philanthropic needs, drive membership and activation Responsible for preparing, writing, and submitting major solicitation letters, membership solicitation letters, acknowledgment letters, thank you letters, and reports Conduct analysis of member and annual fund giving to maximize ROI and build strategies for constant improvement Partner with the Marketing team to create campaigns that increase membership at all Raise funds for additional programmatic support and special projects Help identify, develop, and mentor the development team Partner with Programming to understand upcoming programs and needs from the Development Team to engage members Engage as an Ambassador for social media initiatives by actively sharing social media posts within one's own networks, to amplify the organization's reach and foster community engagement Participates in other projects as assigned MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law. The successful applicant will have: 5+ years of prior experience with a proven track record of success Must have managerial experience working in a similar role Experience fundraising methodology, including prospect research, proposal preparation, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of members and individual donors, including major gifts Ability to take direction with a proven track record of achieving fundraising targets and expanding and diversifying donor bases A professional presence marked by discretion, good judgment, good humor, and a polished, personable demeanor with an ability to work well as a team member and with individuals at all levels throughout the organization Highly organized with solid time management skills and exceptional technical skills to maintain donor records accurately and efficiently Strongly proficient CRM experience & Microsoft 365 Ability to work flexible hours Ability to work in-office Monday to Friday in Midtown NYC Bilingual fluency in Spanish a plus Temporary to permanent opportunity
