Business Developer
We are looking for a Business Developer to join the Whole Foods Market Growth & Innovation team supporting Whole Foods Market and Amazon Retail Development projects. Reporting to the Executive Leader, this role will be responsible for developing an overarching strategy for in-store retail partnerships. Functions include creating third-party partnerships, negotiating contracts, strategic thought leadership/innovation ideation, and financial/business analysis. This position is based in any Store Support office, with an expectation of being in the Store Support office five days a week. Travel can be expected up to 25%. Key job responsibilities include managing external partner relationships, leading deals and driving internal/external alignment, strategic thought leadership/innovation ideation, and financial/business analysis. Collaborate effectively with cross-functional and business teams in engagements. Influence decision-makers and stakeholders relevant to your owned workstreams. Oversee end-to-end negotiation and partnership related activities. Leads drafting of documents and other written communication presented to/discussed with leaders with some oversight and review needed from more senior team members. Own and deliver on key workstreams, which may include thesis building, stakeholder and deal management, consensus building, deal/partnership design and structuring, doc writing, negotiation, deal execution, and post-deal partner and/or internal management. Act as a subject matter expert in your area of focus as well as creative ways to establish new relationships and structure deals. Manage complex decisions, determining how to achieve the best outcome in difficult situations, and know when/how to escalate. Build trusted relationships with internal leaders. Navigate the ambiguity of multiple internal business initiatives, soliciting input from business and cross-functional teams, and synthesizing learnings to inform negotiation strategy and partner evaluation.
