The Director of Preconstruction - Multifaceted General Contractor will be responsible for: Managing the estimating department in its function of developing hard bids, construction management estimates, design-build proposals, and other types of project estimates Preparing the weekly bid calendar and ensuring timely completion of estimates Managing and coordinating the department workload Participating in the determination of which projects the company will pursue Evaluating the performance of department personnel and developing strategies to advance the capabilities of the estimating staff through assignments and training Identifying and monitoring career paths for estimating staff Hiring and evaluating estimating staff and training them to ensure their skill sets support corporate goals Monitoring the success and accuracy of the department's estimates Overseeing the management of the estimating database and historical building costs Reviewing the subcontractor and supplier database Managing the project buyout following a successful bid MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law. B.S degree in engineering or construction management 10+ years experience with a commercial or industrial general contractor Detail oriented with a demonstrated ability to organize and manage detailed analysis Experience with estimating, scheduling and/or project management technology Have a high degree of competency with estimating software Excellent written and verbal communication skills The ability to work in a high-pressure environment with tight deadlines Strong organizational and problem-solving skills Ability to work in a team environment What's On Offer
