Pavion and our family of companies are seeking a talented and motivated Applications Engineer II to join our shared services team.
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide advanced remote support to operations and service teams for the configuration, programming, and troubleshooting of access control and video management systems (VMS). Assist with system commissioning, database configuration, credential integration, and device programming for supported platforms. Respond to service escalations and provide Tier II/III support for complex system issues. Collaborate with field teams during system cutovers, upgrades, and migrations. Interpret system documentation, wiring diagrams, and as-built drawings to assist with field-based troubleshooting. Maintain expert-level knowledge of supported manufacturers and platforms (e.g., LenelS2, Genetec, Milestone, Avigilon, Exacq, etc.). Support the development and maintenance of standard operating procedures (SOPs), system configuration templates, and knowledge base documentation. Participate in product testing, firmware validation, and pilot rollouts for new technologies or updates. Ensure accurate ticket documentation and timely response in alignment with service-level expectations.
Basic Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent required. 3–5 years of experience in electronic security systems, with a focus on access control and video surveillance platforms. Proficiency in troubleshooting Windows-based applications, IP networks, and security system components. Experience with common security software platforms (e.g., LenelS2, Genetec, Milestone, Avigilon, etc.). Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and support multiple concurrent issues. Certifications from major manufacturers (e.g., Lenel, Genetec, Milestone) are a plus. Willingness to participate in a rotating on-call schedule or after-hours support as needed.
