Position Description

Aging and Disability Services (ADS) is seeking dedicated professionals to join the Washington Cares Fund (WA Cares) team—an innovative initiative designed to support long-term care needs across our community. WA Cares is the nation’s first universal long-term care insurance program, created to help Washington workers access the care they need when they need it. As the Area Agency on Aging for King County, ADS plays a key role in launching and implementing WA Cares in the Seattle-King County region.

We are currently hiring two WA Cares Grants and Contracts Specialists to develop, manage, and monitor contracts with long-term support service providers—helping individuals remain safely in their homes and communities as they age. These positions report to the WA Cares Supervisor and are critical to the success of this statewide initiative.

Job Responsibilities:

Develop and execute contracts – review new provider applications to determine if agencies meet qualifications. Develop and execute contracts.

Ensure contract compliance and quality – complete annual risk assessments, onsite program assessments, and regular desk monitoring; evaluate adherence to rules, policies, and requirements; prepare assessment reports; develop and monitor performance improvement plans as needed. Collaborate with team members on monitoring activities.

Provide technical assistance, support, and training to agencies regarding requirements, systems access issues, and program processes; respond to and resolve issues and complaints from agencies, constituents, beneficiaries/participants, and stakeholders.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Requires at least one year of professional experience in contract administration, budget management, planning, human services administration, AND a bachelor’s degree in business, public administration, human services, or related field (or equivalent education and experience).

OR:

An equivalent combination of education and experience demonstrating the ability to perform the duties.

Desired Qualifications:

Experience with Aging and Disability network services.

Experience managing human service contracts and monitoring compliance with laws and regulations.

Ability to learn new software and data systems.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.

The pay range is $38.55 - $44.82 per hour.
