Position Summary
We are seeking a
Level II Welder
with experience in
robotic welding programming
to join our 2nd shift operations. This position is ideal for a highly skilled MIG welder who also has hands-on experience or working knowledge of programming robotic welding equipment or is willing to be trained. The individual will perform MIG welding as their primary responsibility and assist in programming and troubleshooting robotic welding systems to ensure quality and productivity standards are met.
Key Responsibilities
Perform high-quality MIG welding on production parts according to specifications. Set up and operate robotic welding systems. Assist in programming welding robots to ensure consistent weld quality and efficiency. Interpret and follow welding blueprints, technical drawings, and weld symbols. Support fixture setup and part loading for robotic weld cells. Perform routine maintenance and minor troubleshooting on welding equipment. Collaborate with team members, engineering, and quality departments to ensure work meets required standards. Train and assist other welders/operators on robotic welding systems and best practices. Accurately complete documentation related to weld setup, production records, and quality checks.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Required
High school diploma or GED. Certified MIG Welder (GMAW) – certification must be current and verifiable. Minimum of 2 years of MIG welding experience in a manufacturing environment. Working knowledge of robotic welding systems and basic programming. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, weld symbols, and blueprints. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Can work well independently. Willingness to train on 1st shift for 2–3 weeks and occasionally cover 1st shift as needed.
Preferred
Experience with robotic platforms. Associate degree or technical certification in Welding, Robotics, or Industrial Technology. Experience with robotic weld path adjustments, programming logic, or fixture alignment. Basic understanding of PLCs and industrial automation principles. Ability to adapt to change, and willingness to cross-train.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 lbs. throughout the shift. Must be comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, noise, and required PPE.
