We are seeking a visionary leader passionate about developing and implementing strategies to increase major gifts, build, and foster meaningful relationships with donors. The Vice President, Mission Advancement will lead efforts to amplify our mission by communicating our story and building meaningful connections with key businesses, foundations, and individual philanthropists.
Compensation and Benefits
Sign-On Bonus: $600
Salary: Dependent on experience and qualifications

Key Responsibilities
Strategy / Planning / Finance
Develop and implement annual plans for Philanthropy Services
Oversee the development of the annual marketing plan
Manage the annual budget for Philanthropy Services
Research economic and business conditions affecting LSS
Develop and execute special campaigns for capital and other needs
Increase the volume of major gifts received annually
Analyze return on investment for fundraising activities
Target donor retention and new donor acquisition strategies
Manage service contracts for Philanthropy Services, including RFP development
Public Relations
Effectively communicate LSS mission, vision, and values
Represent LSS at community events and organizations
Present to individuals, congregations, and groups about LSS services and philanthropic opportunities
Build relationships with key businesses, foundations, and philanthropists
Collaborate with Lutheran Planned Giving
Leadership
Lead Marketing/Communications, Donor Relations, and Philanthropy teams
Communicate regularly with staff about performance and expectations
Participate in LSS Executive and Leadership teams
Engage the Governing and Foundation Board of Directors in fundraising activities
Education, Experience, and Skills
Bachelor's or Master's Degree
At least 4 years of executive experience in philanthropy, marketing, or related fields
Supervisory and management experience
Experience in budget development and management
Strong communication and presentation skills
Critical thinking skills to resolve challenges
