The team is searching for a penetration tester to support the 48th Cyberspace Test Squadron, the United States Air Force, and the United States Space Force at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida. The Cybersecurity Penetration Test Team conducts security analysis and assessments on Air Force and Space Force systems to identify vulnerabilities, assess security risks, and recommend corrective actions. This role offers opportunities to work in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment, learn new technologies, and advance your cybersecurity career through on-the-job training, hands-on testing, self-paced learning, and collaboration with experienced professionals holding certifications such as OSCP, OSEP, OSWA, OSWE, OSED, OSCE, GCIH, GPEN, and GWAP. The ideal candidate has a technical cyber-background and experience with penetration testing tools like Kali Linux. Qualifications include experience with vulnerability analysis, network/security engineering, understanding of network protocols, programming languages, and familiarity with Windows, Linux, Unix, Cisco, databases, web servers, virtualization, containers, and cloud computing. Candidates should hold relevant cyber certifications and be motivated to learn additional skills. Work hours may vary, with test events typically lasting 1-2 weeks. Travel requirements are approximately 1 week per month, but may fluctuate. Responsibilities
Conduct independent penetration testing, data collection, test automation, and reporting. Develop testing tools and strategies for DoD cybersecurity assessments. Perform system security analyses to identify vulnerabilities. Execute hands-on testing across multiple operating systems (Windows, Linux, Unix, iOS) and software/databases (SQL Server, Oracle). Provide technical guidance to testing teams. Document and communicate test results effectively to technical and non-technical audiences. Maintain strong knowledge of Windows and Linux (including Kali Linux) operating systems. Support the management, planning, and execution of CVI, CVPA, and ACD activities.
