The successful candidate is expected to report to the Milford Proving Grounds location or Warren Technical Center three times per week, or as dictated by the business. The Role: We are looking for experienced and motivated candidates for the role of Senior Software Engineer Platform Cloud Infrastructure, within the Virtualization Platform & Automation team. The teams mission is to create and automate cloud-based platforms for automated software builds and headless execution of test cases within a CI/CD framework. As the platform infrastructure senior engineer, you will work across organizational boundaries to ensure the platforms meet all technical, scalability, and commercial requirements. What You'll Do: Act as the innovation owner of multiple cloud platforms, collaborating with GM IT Operations and Infrastructure teams to ensure compliance with cybersecurity, vulnerability, and infrastructure standards. Lead cross-functional teams to define and document requirements for back-end capabilities to meet scalability and stability needs within a CI/CD framework. Coordinate with suppliers and internal partners during development and maintenance. Develop innovative methods to automate virtualization platform maintenance. Serve as a subject matter expert in cloud infrastructure and virtualization. Provide updates and live demonstrations to leadership and external organizations.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in engineering or computer science. At least 5 years of experience in cloud application development and maintenance. Expertise in programming languages such as C, C++, Python, Java, Quarkus, SystemC. Knowledge of cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, and containerization tools like Docker, Kubernetes. Understanding of GM cybersecurity standards. Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools like Jenkins and GitHub Actions. Proven success in leading complex projects. Excellent communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Masters or PhD in relevant fields. 8+ years of cloud application experience. Familiarity with GM testing tools and automotive communication protocols. Knowledge of automotive development tools.
