We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior SAP Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our SAP Basis organization within the Business Applications group. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies, optimize performance, and ensure the reliability of mission-critical enterprise applications.
What you'll be doing:
Perform system performance tuning for S/4HANA, BW/4HANA, and SAP BTP across SAP application servers, HANA databases, and infrastructure. Develop and enhance observability capabilities within the SAP landscape, focusing on operational metrics and insights. Define, monitor, and improve SLIs and SLOs to ensure SAP service reliability and customer satisfaction. Automate operational tasks, monitoring, and configuration using Python, Shell scripting, and tools like Ansible. Collaborate with SAP Basis, infrastructure, and application teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues. Conduct root cause analysis and lead post-incident reviews to drive continuous improvement. Implement and enforce policies and procedures to ensure compliance and operational integrity. Continuously tune SAP and database performance, identifying opportunities for improvement. What we need to see:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field (or equivalent experience). 8+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or SAP Basis roles focusing on system reliability and performance. Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or similar languages. Good understanding and hands-on experience with Linux or other Unix operating systems. Familiarity with CI/CD practices and deployment automation. Hands-on experience with SAP systems (S/4HANA, HANA DB, NetWeaver, SAP BTP). Deep understanding of SAP NetWeaver, transports, batch processing, and interface architecture. Proficiency in SAP performance tuning, including HANA memory management and SQL analysis. Experience with automation and deployment on AWS, including EC2, CloudWatch, CloudFormation. Knowledge of DevOps practices such as Continuous Integration and Deployment. Ways to stand out:
Operational excellence in running SAP systems in cloud environments like AWS, Azure, or GCP. Expertise in database performance tuning for HANA and enterprise platforms. Ability to troubleshoot complex SAP landscape issues. Certifications in SAP, AWS, databases, ITIL, or PMP. Knowledge of AI/ML tools and applying them within SAP operations.
