Job Description
The Sales Application Engineer (SAE) is responsible for providing technical sales and full product lifecycle technical support for Palomar Products' portfolio of intercom solutions. The ideal candidate will collaborate with Account Executives, Business Unit Managers, and Engineering to identify new opportunities and follow up with customers (End users, OEMs, and Integrators) to grow the sales funnel and close sales opportunities. The SAE acts as the technical support focal point for prospective and current customers, capable of identifying technical solutions and converting them into value propositions. Responsibilities include performing field upgrades, troubleshooting, delivering presentations and demos, and attending seminars and trade shows.
Primary Responsibilities
Identify and maintain prospective customers and opportunities aligned with company objectives, collaborating across organizational partners. Respond to customer inquiries and provide application solutions. Serve as the liaison between customers and Palomar’s cross-functional teams. Articulate complex technical capabilities and deliver technical demonstrations and presentations. Assist in proposal writing and responses. Support online/digital product marketing and social media efforts. Attend aerospace industry tradeshows and exhibitions. Demonstrate evolving features of Palomar products to existing and new customers. Utilize market, customer, and competitor intelligence to inform new product development strategies. Maintain professional and technical knowledge through workshops, publications, networking, and professional societies. Provide full lifecycle technical support to customers with installed systems. Offer sustainment support at customer sites, including upgrades, troubleshooting, and training. Support special projects and other responsibilities as assigned. Uphold the highest ethical standards and adhere to company policies. Work under the direction of the Business Unit Manager and Account Executive to support new business acquisition. Qualifications & Experience
At least five (5) years of proven experience in aerospace avionics technical sales. Experience with aviation communication equipment, installation, or technical support is highly desirable. Degree in a related field; a BS in Electrical Engineering is highly advantageous. Military/Defense avionics experience is highly desirable. Strong technical knowledge of ICS and/or radio systems. Ability to discuss complex technical concepts clearly. Experience in preparing and reviewing technical, marketing, and sales documents. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently on diverse problems, analyzing data and evaluating factors. Strong multi-tasking skills with attention to detail. Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle interruptions effectively. Willingness and ability to travel for customer meetings, sales events, and field support. Demonstrates leadership qualities and acts as a role model. Embodies the company's core values.
