A law firm seeks an Employee Benefits Litigation Associate in Minneapolis. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of litigation experience, preferably in both state and federal courts, and possess strong research, analytical, and writing skills. The role involves managing a high volume of litigation files, including federal, state, and administrative cases, and requires expertise in federal and state rules of civil procedure.
Duties
Represent employee benefit plan clients in various litigation matters. Appear in state and federal court, and administrative proceedings. Manage and calendar all appearances and deadlines. Prepare and respond to discovery, including depositions. Work with collective bargaining agreements and other contracts. Initiate federal litigation and draft civil motions. File mechanic's liens and bond claims. Pursue collection of judgments and respond to subpoenas. Assist with research and client memoranda. Requirements
Superior research and writing skills. Excellent judgment and professional interaction abilities. Federal and state court litigation experience. Education
Law Degree (JD) from an ABA accredited, nationally recognized law school. Certifications
License to practice in Minnesota or timely admission. Skills
