The Director of Donor Engagement and Scholarships shall report to the Vice President of Advancement and Government Affairs. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Identify, cultivate, steward, and strengthen donor and alumni relationships with various activities, including gatherings and fundraisers and donors/alumni groups/chapters. SupportVice President for Advancement and Government Affairs in development and implementation of fund-raising campaigns to secure major and planned gifts. Oversee correspondence with various donors; help in creating agreements and endowments. Secure funding for annual employee awards and other honors. Oversee the creation of newsletters, magazines, social media, and other communication channels to engage alumni, donors and community members. Plan, coordinate, and attend events, meetings, or other activitiesincluding donor, alumni and volunteer recognition banquets, galas, receptions, homecomings and reunions Maintain accurate records of donor and alumni interactions, using CRM tools to track engagement and measure success of programs and report outcomes to leadership. Lead implementation and overall day-to-day operation of the NMJC Foundation scholarship process, to include awarding, selection, online administration of applications, review and verification of pertinent scholarship data, communication with each scholarship recipient on the status and progress of scholarships, etc. Manage and track scholarship funds, ensuring timely disbursement, accurate accounting, and proper alignment with donor intent and legal agreements. Collaborate with the NMJC Foundation Board and campus departments to design, implement, and monitor scholarship processes that ensure equitable access and compliance with institutional and donor guidelines. Collaborate and support on and off-campus groups and departments in fundraising activities that benefit NMJC and the NMJC Foundation and foster positive relationships among them. Prepare personalized scholarship reports and impact summaries for donors, including recipient stories, academic progress, and fund utilization updates. Develop and lead implementation of scholarship gala to include donor acknowledgement strategies, event fundraising components, and other donor-student meet-and-greet events. Lead marketing efforts to promote scholarship opportunities and share success stories and donor impact. Oversee and support accounting staff/contractors to reconcile scholarship budgets, monitor fund balances, support audits and ensure foundation financial accountability and solvency. Oversee the financial administration of all Foundation-held funds, including donor contributions, endowments, scholarships, grants, special projects. Monitor and manage NMJC agency accounts, ensuring accurate tracking, reporting, and reconciliation of funds for college departments, student organizations, and academic programs. Serve as the primary liaison between the NMJC Foundation and the College's finance department to ensure coordinated financial reporting across agency accounts. Lead the development, writing, submission, and stewardship of grant proposals to private foundations, corporate sponsors, and public funding agencies in support of Foundation initiatives and other NMJC efforts. Research and evaluate potential grant opportunities, maintain a pipeline of active and prospective funding sources, and assess eligibility criteria, submission deadlines, and reporting requirements. Collaborate with the Vice President for Advancement, Foundation staff, academic departments, and leadership to identify funding priorities aligned with strategic goals and community needs. Oversee the administration and customization of the NMJC Foundation webpage, scholarship applications, social media, and other online/web-based resources. Provide strategic leadership and daily oversight of Foundation staff, including cross-functional teams, administrative support staff, work-study students, multiple contract employees, interns, and volunteers for donor relations, alumni engagement, events, and fundraising initiatives. Maintain documentation, internal records, and communication logs related to project status for institutional continuity and transparency. Nothing contained herein shall limit the President in assigning the employee to any of the various college activities for which the employee would be qualified in order to meet the needs of NMJC

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Business, Marketing or related field. Management of departmental and programmatic budgets exceeding $500,000-$1,000,000 including scholarship disbursements, program expenses and fundraising event budgets. In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.This position is not eligible for Visa Sponsorship.This is a twelve-month exempt position.
