We are seeking an experienced and strategic Vice President of Business Development and Alliances to drive our growth through strategic partnerships, channel development, and new market expansion. This executive role will be instrumental in scaling our cybersecurity solutions through innovative partnership models, alliance strategies, and business development initiatives that accelerate revenue growth and market penetration.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of building and managing complex partner ecosystems in the cybersecurity or adjacent technology sectors, with the ability to identify, negotiate, and execute high-value strategic partnerships that drive mutual success. We particularly value candidates with diverse cybersecurity backgrounds spanning marketing, technical, and business development roles, as this versatility brings invaluable perspective to partnership strategy and execution.
What You'll Do Strategic Partnership Development
Develop and execute comprehensive partnership strategy aligned with company growth objectives and market expansion goals
Identify, evaluate, and prioritize potential strategic partners including technology vendors, system integrators, MSSPs, and channel partners
Lead end-to-end partnership lifecycle from initial identification through contract negotiation, onboarding, and ongoing relationship management
Structure complex partnership agreements including technology integrations, go-to-market collaborations, and joint solution development
Alliance Management & Optimization
Build and manage a portfolio of strategic alliances that enhance product capabilities and expand market reach
Establish partnership performance metrics, KPIs, and success criteria to ensure mutual value creation
Implement and manage systems to accurately measure and report revenue influence and attribution from partnership activities
Develop joint business plans with key partners and drive execution through cross-functional collaboration
Optimize existing partnerships through regular business reviews, performance analysis, and strategic planning sessions
Business Development & Go-to-Market Alignment
Design business development initiatives that complement and enhance existing channel strategies
Coordinate with channel teams to ensure partnership strategies align with broader go-to-market objectives
Develop strategic alliance frameworks that leverage and amplify channel partner capabilities
Create integrated approaches that maximize the synergy between direct partnerships and channel distribution
Revenue Growth & Market Expansion
Drive incremental revenue growth through partnership channels and new market opportunities
Demonstrate expertise in transitioning new partnerships from initial agreement into successful, revenue-generating go-to-market execution
Collaborate with sales teams to develop joint go-to-market strategies and sales plays
Support major deal pursuits by leveraging partner relationships and capabilities
Identify new market segments and use cases that can be addressed through strategic partnerships
Cross-Functional Leadership
Partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Marketing teams to align partnership strategy with product roadmap and market positioning
Work with Legal and Finance teams to structure partnership agreements and business models
Collaborate with Sales and Customer Success teams to ensure seamless partner integration and customer experience
Provide market intelligence and competitive insights to inform product strategy and positioning
What You'll Bring
20+ years of cybersecurity experience across a range of small to large cybersecurity companies
5+ years in senior leadership roles with direct responsibility for partnership strategy and execution
Proven track record of building and scaling strategic partnerships that generate significant revenue impact
Deep understanding of cybersecurity market dynamics, competitive landscape, and buyer personas
Strong negotiation skills with experience structuring and closing high-value partnership agreements
Excellent communication and presentation skills with ability to engage C-level executives and technical stakeholders
Established credibility as an evangelist and speaker within the cybersecurity community
Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing teams in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment
Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or related field; MBA preferred
Preferred Qualifications
Background working with major technology platforms (AWS, Microsoft, Google Cloud, ServiceNow, Splunk, etc.)
Previous experience in venture-backed or high-growth technology companies
Established relationships within the cybersecurity partner ecosystem
Experience with international market expansion and global partnership strategies
Technical background or engineering experience that enables deep product discussions
Track record of successful IPO or acquisition experience
