Oversees the department in accordance with guidelines, policies, procedures, and applicable laws. Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems. Job Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Required Master's Degree: Preferred Seven years' related experience in A/R Management and/or Managed Care contracting and analysis, as well as experience directing a business office: Preferred Five years' leadership experience: Preferred Essential Functions
Maintains timely preparation and accurate completion of eReserve, including analysis of items/trends that significantly impact net revenue. Effectively leads, inspiring cooperation and confidence among staff and hospital personnel. Reports significant changes and unusual events to the CFO. Interacts regularly with Finance to improve AR-related functions such as cash collections, reduction of bad debt, credit balances, etc. Facilitates revenue cycle meetings, reviews revenue reclasses, adjustments, refunds, charity applications, and professional courtesy discounts. Establishes and achieves department and hospital priorities and goals. Develops and revises policies and procedures, ensuring staff receives appropriate training and staffing compliance. Acts as a customer service point of escalation. Analyzes data to verify contract terms are loaded correctly and claims are properly adjudicated during and after managed care negotiations. Coaches, counsels, disciplines staff as appropriate, ensuring adherence to HR policies. Completes performance reviews, orientations, and ongoing staff education timely. Maintains a supportive work environment through effective staff management and development. Responsible for hiring and training new employees. Performs other related duties as assigned.
