SUMMARY: The VP, Director of Data Engineering is a strategic leadership role responsible for defining and executing the vision for enterprise data engineering, pipelines, and platform architecture. This role leads the design, development, and oversight of scalable data systems that enable data integration, analytics, reporting, and data science organization-wide. This leader ensures secure, compliant, and high-performing data environments by guiding engineering and architecture teams. The role is key in advancing the Bank's data maturity and driving business value through efficient data practices and infrastructure. OTHER QUALIFICATIONS: Extensive experience in designing and managing complex data pipelines, platform architecture, and distributed data systems. Strong programming skills in SQL, Python, R, with experience in ETL/ELT tools and orchestration frameworks. Hands-on experience with platforms like Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift, BigQuery, or similar. Proven success in leading and scaling cross-functional teams in data engineering and architecture. Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and hybrid architectures. Knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks, CI/CD, version control, and DevOps tools. Understanding of metadata management, data quality, and data lineage tools. Ability to align data initiatives with business strategies and demonstrate measurable impact. Oversees design of scalable, secure data architectures, enforces standards, and evaluates new platforms. Operations & Compliance:
Implements monitoring, ensures compliance with data governance, privacy laws, and security standards. Collaboration & Influence:
Works with stakeholders to gather requirements, promotes data literacy, and advocates best practices. Team Leadership:
Builds and mentors high-performing teams, manages offshore staff, and fosters a culture of excellence. Additional Requirements
