Job Description The family you will be joining : VEG is a rapidly growing veterinary emergency company with hospital locations across the United States. New ER Doctor Program - Practicing Veterinarians VEG's New ER Doctor (NERD) Program is a training and mentorship initiative designed specifically for veterinarians with 1+ years of experience post-graduation who are looking to transition into emergency medicine. This is a 6-month, intensive, hands-on mentorship program focused on emergency care. Successful completion transitions participants into a full-time Emergency Doctor position at VEG. The program includes continuing education, regular mentor meetings, and working alongside experienced emergency doctors. What makes the New ER Doctor Program stand out? It's a mentorship program, not an internship! You will work alongside highly-skilled medical directors and emergency doctors on every shift. Advanced training provides the confidence and clinical experience needed to succeed in emergency medicine. You will learn best practices for client-centered communication and care. Industry-leading compensation. During your 6-month program, you can expect to attend CE experiences such as: Ultrasound Exotics Endoscopy Surgery Critical Care All expenses paid by VEG! Requirements A passion for helping others. A valid DVM, VMD, or equivalent degree. Practicing veterinarian with 1+ years of experience. A desire to specialize in emergency medicine. A valid veterinary license and DEA registration in the state where the program will be completed, by the start date. The ability to: lift at least 50 lbs. stand for extended periods (potentially entire 12-hour shifts). stay awake overnight and work overnight shifts. commit to a fixed schedule for six consecutive months.
