As one of the country’s leading connectivity providers and largest ISPs, Charter values WIFI as a vital part of modern life, serving over 300 million wireless devices and carrying 80% of the data consumed on those devices in homes and offices. The wireless device engineering team seeks a Senior DevOps Engineer to work on mission-critical projects that expand Charter’s intelligent WIFI and cellular capabilities. Working in an agile environment, you’ll need to be a creative problem solver, resourceful, and capable of working independently or collaboratively. Major Duties and Responsibilities
The DevOps Lead Engineer will:
Own the ideation, design, development, and enhancement of CI/CD pipelines. Evaluate current CI pipelines and design new solutions using AWS functions. Improve existing AWS environments via CloudFormation and Terraform scripts. Collaborate with development and architecture teams to improve development efficiencies and infrastructure. Gather technical requirements and document features, stories, and high-level designs. Development Work (50% of time):
Enhance Entitlements Server Pipelines with automated end-to-end testing. Develop end-to-end solutions leveraging AWS resources. Create microservices in Python/Java on AWS. Partner with automation teams to improve CI solutions. Implement production monitoring and create dashboards and KPIs. Create new CI/CD pipelines for projects. Apply industry and AWS best practices for deployment, monitoring, and alerting. Required Qualifications
Problem solver with a passion for developing DevOps solutions using various tools and techniques. Strong design documentation and communication skills. Experience with Agile methodologies, including writing and prioritizing epics, features, and stories. Leadership in grooming sessions and process improvements. Experience designing and deploying AWS solutions (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, etc.). Proficiency with GitLab, Jenkins, and AWS networking. Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines. Knowledge of industry best practices for DevOps in cloud environments. Willingness to mentor team members. Passion for CI/CD and automation. Related Work Experience
3 to 7 years in DevOps. Proficient with Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS cloud resources. Experience coding in Python/Java and working with databases. Experience integrating tools like GitLab, JIRA, Slack. Experience managing production deployments and monitoring environments. Additional Details
