Fire Protection Designer – Waltham, MA
~ $95,000–$115,000/year DOE | Direct Hire | Hybrid Schedule
An established mechanical contractor is seeking a
Fire Protection Designer
to support sprinkler system design for projects in
life sciences, healthcare, and higher education . Projects range in size from
$50K to $20M
and are located throughout the Greater Boston area.
Responsibilities:
Design layouts for sprinkler systems in coordination with other MEP trades Perform hydraulic calculations and generate stock listings Attend coordination meetings (virtual and/or in person) Conduct site surveys and hydrant flow tests Support estimating team with review and preparation of bid drawings
Qualifications:

3+ years
of sprinkler design and hydraulic calculation experience Strong technical knowledge of fire protection systems Working knowledge of
NFPA standards NICET certification
preferred Experience with
AutoSPRINK
preferred Previous field installation experience a plus Proficient in
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Able to manage and prioritize multiple projects Highly organized, detail-oriented, and efficient Strong communication skills and commitment to client satisfaction
