LOCATION: Onsite in Redmond, WA
DURATION: 12 months with possible extension

Job Description:
The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for designing and validating a wide variety of mechanical systems and assemblies for manufacturing equipment, measurement instruments and consumer and commercial products. Work with multidisciplinary teams to ensure that customer and product requirements are met.
Essential Job Functions - Responsibilities:
Tool, part and system design across a wide variety of industries and product types. Engineering analysis (Thermal, Dynamic, Stress) in support of project goals. Documentation of designs and design intent. Appropriate tolerance and specification. Creation of 3D CAD and 2D drawings using Siemens NX and SolidWorks. Experience designing assembly aids and fixtures to meet design intent. Experience designing for 3D printing in a fast-paced prototyping space. Meet required Quality System Documentation and Process requirements. Develop test plans, execute testing, and report results. Coordinate with multiple disciplines to meet project goals. Work closely with external customers maintaining a focus on customer service and relationship development. Follow Business Technology policies to protect sensitive data and reduce information security occurrences. Education and Experience: (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities)
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent required. Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience required. Significant experience in 3D and 2D CAD systems. Siemens NX preferred. Experience with overmolding methodologies and tool design. Experience with a wide range of manufacturing methods (machining, sheet, injection molding, etc.). Experience performing mechanical system analysis, design margin analysis, and designing custom tools for assembly, testing or characterizing electromechanical systems, and creating clear written technical documentation. Familiarity with test design, planning, and execution, including accelerated test methods. Reliability engineering, FMEA, product performance testing and test results reporting experience (DOE). Experience working in a product design/manufacturing environment. Proven ability to take initiative to identify and solve complex system level issues. Excellent analytical and empirical problem solving and troubleshooting skills. Ability to plan work and accomplish objectives with minimal direction. Basic computer literacy skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, basic file structure understanding, networks, and web navigation. Strong written and verbal English language communication skills. Excellent teamwork/interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, both within and outside one's own work group. Demonstrate commitment and adherence to Sigma Design Core Values.
