Residential Assistant (RA)
to join our team in
Kona , supporting residents in group living settings as they transition toward independent community living.
As an RA, you'll serve as a positive role model, help residents with daily living skills, and ensure a safe, respectful, and recovery-oriented environment.
Residential Assistant Responsibilities: Mentoring & Support : Assist residents with life skills including communication, peer interaction, and rent responsibility, while modeling positive behavior. Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) : Teach and support residents in personal care, meal preparation, household chores, and hygiene routines. Safety & Crisis Response : Maintain a safe environment, respond to emergencies, and complete incident documentation per policy. Program Activities : Plan and participate in recreational, vocational, and educational outings that align with residents' interests. Household Operations : Support daily operations such as shopping, cleaning, and basic maintenance; report facility concerns to supervisors. Recovery-Based Care : Empower residents to achieve personal goals through person-centered, trauma-informed practices. Documentation : Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation, including progress notes and service plan updates. Resident Supervision : Monitor resident behavior, whereabouts, and medication self-administration, and intervene as necessary. Clinical Supervision : Engage in regular supervision to ensure high-quality, ethical, and culturally competent services. Team Collaboration : Communicate with case managers and staff to support resident recovery and program goals. Residential Assistant Requirements:
Minimum : High school diploma or equivalent Preferred : Coursework in psychology, social work, or human development; or experience in behavioral health or human services Skills : Strong interpersonal and communication skills, emotional tolerance under stress, and ability to work collaboratively in a team setting Certifications
(required upon hire or annually): CPR, First Aid, TB Clearance Other Requirements :
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs Must pass a criminal background check
